Pumptrack Plan

Pump track plan!

To grant fun and safety we first have to work out a detailed plan.
We can build a pump track on almost every terrain. The planning is very important to use the terrain at its best.

It all depends on the “flow” – and sometimes a few inch of the radius make the difference and decide whether the pump track is working or not!

Unfortunately still companies that are not experienced are hired to plan and build a pump track. This results in additional costs and a track unable to ride.

Consideration

Find a terrain: it’s very common to build a pump track in a residental area – little noise is a positive feature for a pump track! A venue for young and old!

Made of soil, asphalt, concrete or wood? advantage and disadvantage  Pumptrack bauen

How to finance a pump track?

A big advantage of bikeparks and pump tracks made of soil is they are compared to other sports facilities relatively inexpensive. Soil is inexpensive or even for free, enviromental friendly and almost everywhere available. Also care and maintenance are very easy to handle and usually the bikers do it on their own.

However more expensive venues just as skate or bikeparks made of asphalt, wood, steel or concrete are more useful for bigger cities with a lot users. For example a pump track made of asphalt can be used from mountainbikers, skateboarders, kids that ride scooters or inlineskaters.
Therefore it’s necessary to check which track fits best.

Although the local / municipal budget for bikeparks is low, a lot of cities see that bikeparks and pump tracks are a very good opportunity for physical movement and activities.

Include networks and everybody who is interested!

It’s important that all – user, administration and government – work together to finance that project sucessfully.
Sport activities are very healthy, venues offer a social value and modern bike or skateparks are a city attraction!

In case of little money it’s favourable for a sports club to own the bikepark. A sports club could have more financing options.
